  • Develop knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and use our understanding in problem solving scenarios
  • Make a big effort to recall number facts and multiplication tables quickly
  • Recognise and describe the properties of 2D and 3D shapes
  • Measure using metres and centimetres as standard units
  • Recognise and use money in everyday situations
  • Tell the time on analogue and digital clocks and solve mathematical word problems.
  • Collect data, present data on frequency tables and display on bar chart

Literacy

  • Develop active listening skills and share ideas in group and class discussions
  • Continue to learn and use spellings from the spelling scheme
  • Extend knowledge of the use of capital letters, full stop, question mark and exclamation mark. Recognise and use nouns, verbs and adjectives
  • Concentrate on reading for meaning and answering questions in guided reading.
  • Reading our class novel this term – ‘There's a Pharoah in our bath’
  • Examine instructions, highlighting the key features before using them in our own set of instructions.

WAU

Our topic is ‘Raiders of the Lost Tomb’, focusing on the Ancient Egyptians. The children will be developing knowledge and skills in various areas of the curriculum – in art we will be creating silhouette desert landscapes featuring the Egyptian pyramids, Ancient Egyptian headdresses, as well as creating our own papyrus. The children will be using ICT skills to research facts about life in Ancient Egypt. Outdoor learning will take place where appropriate.

PATHS

We will be thinking about different feelings. We will recognise and celebrate each child’s unique personality through our daily ‘Pupil of the Day’.

PE

Children will participate in weekly PE lessons, with our focus on Gymnastics this term. We will also partake in Swimming lessons too.
