National Museums Northern Ireland
Today P1-4 welcomed Nigel, Natural Sciences Education Officer at the Ulster Museum, into our classroom via Teams.
Nigel very kindly sent some wild animal specimens to Armoy PS for us to study as part of their Feathers, Fur and Prickles workshop. We have a buzzard, a red squirrel, a hedgehog and a fox.
We looked at and discussed the different animals’ appearances, diets and habitats. We even got to touch them -very gently of course!
We will be following up our workshop with the second session next week and will prepare a labelled drawing of one of the animals. We will also be preparing questions for Nigel who said he can answer any questions on any animals in the world!!
